Now more than ever before, our world is under attack and siege. Regions of the world are being victimized by unhinged people and groups. They gain access to devices that cause injuries and death. Families are torn apart physically and emotionally by them. Improvements have been made to protect our citizens from mass destruction. We have enhanced technology, and our surveillance systems have improved. Intelligence with people on the ground has also deterred weapons of mass destruction and people using them. The city of New Orleans believed it was safe; however, on New Year’s Day, that changed. The Crescent City was the scene of a deadly terrorist attack. The attacker, Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove a pick-up truck around a police barricade in the French Quarter. This part of New Orleans is a main attraction and was packed with visitors because of the New Year celebrations. The perpetrator was killed after being in a shootout with the New Orleans Police Department. It is obvious that he did not fear death....
