U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Acting Secretary Adrianne Todman met with local leaders at the Urban League’s Holloman Center for Social Justice in Avondale on Aug. 7 to discuss ways of creating more affordable housing in Cincinnati. She was invited by U.S. Rep. Greg Landsman and Hamilton County Commission President Alicia Reece. Todman highlighted the Biden-Harris Administration’s work to lower housing costs and boost affordable housing for all. “There’s a major need to increase quality and affordable housing for our children, families, and seniors, and HUD is an important partner in this vital work,” Landsman said at a press conference before moving the meeting into a room for a discussion with Todman, local officials and affordable housing advocates. “For most families, housing has become a very difficult part of their financial life, whether it’s rent going up or it’s a mortgage that they’re struggling to pay,” said Landsman. “We have to work with HUD and state and local leaders to build way more housing.” Cincinnati leaders meet with HUD Secretary Adrianne Todman at the Urban League’s Holloman Center in Avondale last week.
