The recent analysis from Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA), titled "Child Care in America: 2024 Price & Supply," indicates a slight growth in childcare facilities, with an increase of 1.6% to 92,613 centers and a 4.8% rise to 98,807 licensed family childcare homes. However, the financial burden remains excessive, as childcare costs skyrocketed by 29% from 2020 to 2024, outstripping inflation rates and surpassing other household expenses, including mortgages. For families with two parents, childcare can absorb 10% of their income, while for single parents, this figure jumps to a staggering 35%.
