A former Fulton County IT employee has initiated legal action against his employer, claiming he faced ethnic discrimination and was wrongfully terminated for a 2024 cyberattack, which he argues stemmed from his supervisor's negligence.Omotade Adeniyi, a U.S. citizen of Nigerian descent, alleges he endured unfair treatment during his 14-year tenure, particularly after the appointment of supervisor William Clemons. Adeniyi's lawsuit reveals that Clemons made derogatory comments about his national origin and the ethnic makeup of their team, particularly in 2023.Despite filing formal complaints, Adeniyi reports that HR failed to take any corrective actions against Clemons. Following a ransomware attack in January 2024, Adeniyi's equipment was wrongly identified as breach points, despite other computers being compromised. The lawsuit claims Clemons neglected security protocols, which facilitated the attack.Even though other impacted employees included an American colleague, only Adeniyi and another Nigerian employee faced termination, while the American was promoted. Adeniyi seeks compensation, asserting the dismissals were driven by their nationality. Fulton County declined to comment on ongoing litigation.
