Upon the former WWE Champion’s entrance music filling the arena, MetLife Stadium erupted in excitement. Lesnar initiated a clash during Cena’s farewell tour by locking eyes with him as he made his way to the ring. The announcement of Lesnar's comeback elicited surprise, especially since the 48-year-old had been mentioned in Janel Grant’s 2024 lawsuit against Vince McMahon. In July 2021, Grant alleged that McMahon requested “personalized sexual content” for Lesnar amid contract discussions.
