Alabama A&M University has recently launched a new, fully-online Ph.D. program in social work. The new doctoral degree in social work is the first exclusively online program of its kind at a historically Black college or university. In order to enroll in the program, students must hold a master of social work degree and preference will be given to those with at least two years of professional social work experience. The research-intensive curriculum will focus on social work theory, ultimately training students to become leaders within the industry and educate the next generation of social workers. Alongside the doctorate in social work program, Alabama A&M University has established two additional online graduate programs: a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction and a master’s degree in food science business. All three programs are now accepting applications for enrollment for the upcoming fall 2024 semester.
