Saint Lucian sharpshooter Shamalyn Albert has increased her output in Martinique football to 11 goals in seven games and now has a new tag-team partner. Albert and national captain Ellaisa Marquis were joined for their most recent game by 20-year-old Saint Lucia international Freegeane Joseph, who also made her presence felt on the scoresheet.
L’ Avenir du Saint-Esprit defeated Espoir 4-0 to go up to fifth in the regional women’s league. Vieux Fort’s Joseph found her feet in her second outing for L’Avenir, scoring the first two goals, both assisted by Albert.
In the second half, the Choiseul attacker added another assist, then scored herself to put the icing on the cake.
Albert is just a year removed from being one of the most prolific scorers in Saint Lucia’s domestic women’s league.
Based on her international impact and her strong run over the past few months in the French overseas department, she is reportedly being actively scouted by teams in Europe.
