Alpha Kappa Alpha Launches AKA 1908 Political Action Committee

(US MEDIA GROUP) – Alpha Kappa Alpha, the prestigious historically Black sorority known for its notable alumni, including Vice President Kamala Harris, has taken a bold step in the political realm by creating a political action committee (PAC).
The AKA 1908 PAC, also known as the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority PAC, Inc., will be able to accept donations of up to $5,000 from members of the sorority and their families to support federal campaigns and political parties. This is an unusual venture for a sorority, but one that has been sparked by the chance to send one of their own to the White House.
AKA is part of a collective of the country’s oldest and most prestigious sororities and fraternities, known as the “Divine Nine.” With a network of over 2 million alumni, the Divine Nine holds a powerful political force among a constituency that both parties are hoping to mobilize ahead of the November election.
