While over 50,000 students are enrolled across 80 elementary, middle, and high schools in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools (WS/FCS) system, several alternatives exist. The Chronicle will soon showcase various options, including publicly funded charter schools and privately financed schools. Our first feature is Anderson Academy, the newest charter school situated at Crossnore Communities for Children, 1001 Reynolda Road. Currently serving grades K-4, it aims to expand to K-8. Named after renowned local physician Dr. Stephen G. Anderson, the school provides tuition-free education.Recognizing a community need, Crossnore conducted the Promise of Home campaign to fund Anderson Academy's establishment.
