A woman from Georgia, Angel Thompson, has been apprehended in connection with the 2007 murder of her girlfriend, Nicole Alston, whose remains were gruesomely discovered in 13 pieces along a quiet road. Alston, 24, originally from Manhattan, was located in a burning body bag, missing her hands, feet, and head. Fulton County officials highlighted the heinous nature of the crime, with investigator Clay Bryant asserting that it required “a true sociopath.”
Alston's identity remained unknown for over 16 years due to the condition of her remains, only confirmed in early 2023 through DNA evidence linking her to a relative. Authorities revealed that Alston left New York to reside with Thompson, who had a troubled past involving theft and identity fraud.
Before her death, Alston was reportedly seeking new relationships. Thompson is accused of stealing Alston's identity for financial gain after the murder. In August 2023, Thompson was arrested for concealing Alston’s death, followed by murder charges in September.
