HipHopDX reports the woman known as “The Voice of New York” will helm “God’s Favorite DJ: The Story of DJ Clark Kent.” In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Martinez referred to Kent as “a rare gem whose influence is seen in nearly every era of Hip-Hop’s history books,” while voicing her appreciation to help bring the turntablist’s story to the masses. “With our 50-year-old culture susceptible to outside perspective and agenda, it’s important that we spotlight the heroes who push the art form with purity and authenticity,” she said. “I am honored to help share Clark’s many truths with the world,” A founding member of the influential DJ crew The Supermen, Kent marked his start in Hip Hop working with rapper Dana Dane.
