The City of Sacramento is currently inviting applications for $200,000 worth of grant funding aimed at bolstering community-driven initiatives along Stockton Boulevard, aligned with the objectives set forth in the Stockton Blvd Plan. Individual grants will vary between $5,000 and $25,000, with eligibility extending to businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, and individuals with a fiscal sponsor. Those with personal experience or generational connections to the Stockton Boulevard area are particularly encouraged to apply. Mikel Davila, senior project manager at the City’s Office of Innovation and Economic Development, stated, “This funding directly supports the people and initiatives that are integral to the essence of Stockton Boulevard.” Importantly, at least $100,000 is earmarked for projects incorporating arts or cultural endeavors. Eligible activities may include revitalizing underused spaces, fostering youth leadership programs, or organizing community cleanups. Applications will be accepted until December 5, requiring a pre-application consultation with the City’s Neighborhood Development Action Team beforehand.
