The Jefferson County Department of Health (JCDH) is set to hold its annual Back-to-School Immunization Clinic from July 28 to August 13, 2025, at the Central Health Center located at 1400 6th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233. This initiative aims to assist families in fulfilling school immunization mandates before the academic year begins. Operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a special Saturday session will take place on August 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To minimize wait times, appointments are encouraged via phone at (205) 588-5234 or through the self-scheduler at www.jcdh.org. While walk-ins are welcome, documentation is essential, including a guardian’s photo ID, insurance details, and, if possible, shot records. Additionally, proof of residency and income may qualify Jefferson County residents for discounted services. This clinic ensures children start school healthy and equipped for success, as emphasized by Dr. Wesley Willeford, Jefferson County Deputy Health Officer. (Image: Wikipedia)
