The Bank of Saint Lucia (BOSL) has warned its customers about a spike in fraudulent activity involving transactions from the merchant Payby Technology. An image of a text message accompanied the BOSL warning. The Bank said customers have reported receiving a similar text message stating that an additional payment of USD 0.10 is needed to ship packages. “The message includes a link to proceed with shipping, and an OTP (One-Time Password) is then sent. Please note that this is a fraudulent text and transaction,” BOSL advised. The lending institution urged customers not to click the link or enter the OTP or their card details. “We urge you to be vigilant and cautious before proceeding with any transaction that seems suspicious. Always verify the legitimacy of any requests for additional payments or personal information,” the BOSL stated in an email. The Bank declared that customer security is its priority. In addition, it invited customers who have any concerns or questions to contact the institution via email at bosldigital@bankofsaintlucia.com or telephone 456-6999.
