(The Dallas Examiner) – There have been efforts to ban books and Black history, as well as dismantle affirmative action and other diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives – for several months – in corporate America and across the country. Since 1971, the Congressional Black Caucus and its foundation has fought to advance civil rights and social justice. In preparation for the 53rd annual Legislative Conference, scheduled for Sept. 11-15 in Washington, D.C., the Center for Policy Analysis and Research of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation held its Annual Legislative Conference Policy Update virtually, June 27. The update reviewed key policy initiatives and progress on issues of democracy since the September 2023 conference. Related Stories The conference is the nation’s largest policy conference focusing on issues impacting Black Americans and the global Black community. The foundation collaborates with members of the Congressional Black Caucus to bring together legislators, thought leaders, industry professionals, and concerned citizens to highlight important issues for Black communities and to help move policy forward over the next year.
