A seasoned Chicago police officer, Craig Lancaster, has ended his law enforcement career following charges related to an altercation with a minor. The incident involved Lancaster allegedly grabbing a 14-year-old boy, JaQuwaun Williams, by the neck and forcefully pushing him outside an elementary school two years ago.As reported by the Chicago Tribune, the 56-year-old, who dedicated nearly three decades to the Chicago Police Department, agreed to voluntarily relinquish his police certification as part of a plea deal. Initially charged with felony aggravated battery in November 2023, the case gained attention after surveillance footage revealed his unprovoked attack on Williams.Despite representing himself as acting in defense of children, Lancaster's actions were condemned. The plea bargain reduced his charges to misdemeanor disorderly conduct, requiring him to complete 18 months of supervision and undergo anger management therapy. Over his career, he faced numerous misconduct allegations, primarily concerning excessive use of force.
