Become a Beacon of Change: Your Role in Promoting Love and Justice

The Children’s Defense Fund underscores a tough week for those who are sympathetic to the struggles faced by families and children globally. Despite this adversity, inspiring messages surfaced during the King Center's Be Love Day event in Atlanta on July 9. Participants were urged to commit to daily acts of love in order to build the cherished community envisioned by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.The Be Love pledge inspires individuals to let love direct their thoughts and behaviors, promote honesty, and confront injustice while uplifting benevolent leaders. It calls upon people to come together and resist division.Later this month, faith leaders and child advocates will gather at the Children’s Defense Fund's Haley Farm for the 2025 Hall-Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry, honoring Rev. Dr. Prathia Hall and Rev. Dr. Samuel DeWitt Proctor. This venue champions the united quest for justice.The late Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s poignant reminder rings true: “Good leaders combat challenges with goodness.” Ultimately, the pursuit of justice is a shared obligation, as all belong to one human family deserving of respect.
