Beyoncé is giving back to her hometown of Houston this holiday season.
On Wednesday (December 11), Beyoncé’s BeyGood Foundation announced it was donating $100,000 to the University of Houston’s Law Center. The funds will go toward the college’s Criminal Justice Clinic, which will now be able to hire a full-time director and allow more students to enroll in the program.
More resources will also enable the Criminal Justice Clinic to increase its efforts in assisting underserved areas surrounding Bey’s hometown college.
“I am delighted that the BeyGood Foundation has made this very generous gift to the UH Law Center,” Leonard Baynes, who serves as dean of the UH Law Center, said in a statement. “Not only will this funding help establish a full-time criminal justice clinic that provides pro bono legal services in our community, but it will also supercharge our already excellent criminal law and justice programming.”
