The Birmingham Youth and Young Adult Fellowship Choir (BYYAFC) is gearing up for their upcoming journey to Los Angeles on September 1 to participate in the fan-favored quarterfinals of "America’s Got Talent" (AGT). In preparation, the BYYAFC held a celebratory event titled “Raise the Praise: A Golden Sendoff” at The Heights Event and Entertainment Center in Ensley on Sunday.Following their impressive achievement of receiving the “golden buzzer” during the July 8 episode of Season 20, they immediately advanced to the quarterfinals. Their performances will air on NBC on September 9 and 10, with an intensive two-week schedule dedicated to rehearsals and stage design, while on-set educators facilitate academic continuity for the younger participants. The adult choir members are making personal sacrifices to manage work, family, and travel commitments.Advancement is contingent upon public votes, and the judging panel includes Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Mel B, hosted by Terry Crews.
