LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – A significant gathering honoring Black-owned businesses unfolded at VFW Post 1193, inviting attendees to discover a multitude of local enterprises. The Black-tivity Black Business Expo showcased an array of Black vendors and included thought-provoking speakers, all in celebration of Juneteenth weekend. This event was executed by Top 5 Entertainment alongside partner organizations, facilitating opportunities for networking and the sharing of innovative marketing strategies. “I genuinely admire the community’s effort to come together and highlight their brands,” stated Sharonda Facen from Top 5 Entertainment. “It reflects that Lawton is more than just major corporations.” “This event represents Lawton, Oklahoma's first Black business expo, aimed at increasing our visibility and proving that we possess both a voice and essential resources, allowing us to contribute back to the community,” noted Andre Facen. The initiative focused on empowering local Black entrepreneurs and cultivating an environment that promotes their recognition and growth within the broader community.
