Bobby Portis Jr. Of the Bucks Receives a 25-Game Suspension For Failed Drug Test

On Thursday morning, Bobby Portis Jr. received some unfavorable news: the Milwaukee Bucks player has been suspended by the NBA for 25 games without pay for breaking the league’s anti-drug policy. Minutes ago, the Association released a statement stating that the experienced forward had tested positive for the banned substance Tramadol, a painkiller. According to Bartelstein: “Toradol is an approved pain medication that he has used previously and that teams and players use for pain and inflammation at times,”. “Tramadol, however, is not an approved pain medication and was recently added to the banned substance list this past spring.” According to the statement, one of Portis’s helpers gave him the anti-inflammatory drug, which he was taking to treat an elbow injury he sustained in a fall.
