Officers of the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 responded swiftly to an altercation between two inmates, who were at a routinely scheduled recreation break  for the Remand Block. The altercation was quickly quelled and brought under control, ensuring   the safety of several other inmates who were present at the time. During the course of the altercation one individual sustained lacerations to his body and was transported to hospital for medical care. The injured inmate is reported to be in a stable condition. The assailant in the altercation has been placed under close management. The Dennery Police Station was notified and are currently conducting investigations into this matter. The Management of the Bordelais Correctional Facility wishes to disassociate the institution from a graphic video that is in circulation, which purportedly shows someone suffering with a neck injury. Officials of the BCF have verified that this person is not a past nor current member of the inmate population of the correctional facility.
