An Arkansas woman has disclosed that she reached a breaking point when her lover refused to disclose their affair to his spouse. Latoshia Daniels, a mental health and anger management counselor, was indicted in 2019 for the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Brodes Perry, the former head pastor of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
As reported by the Commercial Appeal, Daniels drove several hours from Little Rock, Arkansas, to confront Perry about ending his marriage. She was convicted of second-degree murder after shooting both Perry and his wife, Tabatha, who survived.
Daniels recounted meeting Perry during ministry at St. Mark’s Baptist Church, where their relationship evolved from counseling to intimacy. Initially, Daniels described their time together as “amazing,” but later characterized Perry as controlling. He often discussed “ethical non-monogamy” and instructed her not to contact emergency services in dire situations.
Ultimately, after an emotional breakdown leading to the tragic confrontation, Daniels was convicted, facing sentencing on December 17. Her past as a social worker and author of two books on incarcerated motherhood adds complexity to the case.
