The Los Angeles Sparks suffered a major blow on Tuesday when forward Cameron Brink tore her ACL, ending her promising rookie season early. Remarkable rookie Caitlin Clark also lamented Brink’s injury at a press conference on Wednesday, prior to her team’s game against the Washington Mystics. Clark said,“Obviously devastating,” “You don’t want to see anybody deal with any sort of injury, and obviously not one of that magnitude. I know that she’s the type of person that will be able to get through it, and come out stronger, but it just breaks your heart.”Brink, who is 22 years old, was selected second overall in this year’s WNBA draft, just behind Clark. Brink averaged 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game during her brief season. She slipped while driving to the hoop during a game against the Connecticut Sun, which resulted in the injury.
