Born on October 26, 1933, to Lawrence H. and Emily Louise Friason, she showcased her musical talent as a pianist at 16. A graduate of Hughes High School, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Central State University. With nearly four decades as a history teacher and elementary school principal within the Cincinnati Public School System, her influence shaped countless students. A devoted member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Carmelita's commitment to service and education was unwavering. Survived by her daughter and grandson, she leaves a profound legacy. A memorial service took place on May 23 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1809 Rutland Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45207.
