Charles Gibbs Named Seventh President of Metropolitan College of New York

Charles J. Gibbs has been name the sevebth president of Metropolitan College of New York. Metropolitan College of New York enrolls over 400 undergrduate and 200 graduate students. Black students represent more than half of the undergraduate population.
Dr. Gibbs comes to his new role with over two decades of higher education experience, including a significant background in HBCU administration. He previously served as vice president for university affairs and chief of staff to the president for the Propel Center HBCU Consortium at Clark Atlanta University; dean and vice president for student affairs and vice president for institutional advancement at Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama; and vice provost at Howard University in Washington, D.C.
Prior to his new presidential appointment, Dr. Gibbs served as chief executive officer of 100 Black Men of America, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to mentoring Black youth across the country.
