The Eta Chi chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority Inc. is hosting their annual scholarship luncheon for nursing students at the Jewel Event Center from 12-3 p.m. on June 15. &
Chi Eta Phi, a professional nursing sorority for registered professional and student nurses, boasts over 8000 male and female members from all different ethnic backgrounds.&
Aiming to elevate the field and those who work in it, the event will continue the organization’s mission by hosting a scholarship luncheon.&
Rosalyn Brown, president of the Eta Chi chapter, shared that a lack of younger nurses and Black nurses can contribute to worse health care outcomes. &
The scholarship luncheon aims to offset this disparity by providing scholars with money for books and tuition needed to complete nursing school.&
“We want to make sure younger nurses have the opportunity to not only get into schools but relate to the younger patients when they get them in,” Brown said.&
At the event, attendees will be able to enjoy food while networking with fellow nursing professionals. &
