The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is getting a Ferris wheel.In honor of the museum’s 100th anniversary, a 110-foot tall Centennial Ferris Wheel will make its debut on March 15, 2025. The 12-story tall Ferris wheel, which is one of the biggest portable Ferris wheels in the country, will give families and museum guests a bird’s-eye view of the museum campus, downtown skyline and surrounding areas through Nov. 2, 2025, according to a press release.“Ferris wheels have a unique appeal that combines nostalgia, panoramic views and a sense of excitement,” Jennifer Pace Robinson, president and CEO of the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, said in a statement. “Throughout our Centennial year, we are celebrating 100 years of sparking memories, wonder and dreams. We are excited to add this unique experience that will offer families a chance to do all three!”The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is partnering with Riley Children’s Health, Old National Bank, Ice Miller LLP and The Heritage Group to bring this experience to Indianapolis in honor of their 100th birthday year.The Ferris wheel will be placed in the northwest portion of the “Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience” and operate during the museum’s normal business hours and special events.
