Exciting New Academic Year Begins in Cincinnati Schools, Powered by Community Support

This week marked the beginning of the academic year for local schools, with the Cincinnati Herald extending wishes for a fruitful and inspiring year ahead. Our sincere gratitude is directed toward the dedicated educators and administrators whose unwavering support makes a difference.Community engagement is vital; residents are invited to participate by volunteering to read with students, assist with homework, or simply offer motivation. Those interested in contributing should contact their preferred school to explore available volunteer opportunities.For parents, the first two weeks offer complimentary Metro rides while accompanying their children. A simple notification to the driver upon boarding, or downloading a pass from the Cincinnati Public Schools website, will suffice.On the inaugural day at Cincinnati Preparatory Academy, mascot Gary warmly greeted students with hugs, while faculty, staff, board members, and supporters celebrated together. Additionally, students received complimentary haircuts at the Hope Resource Center in East Westwood, ensuring they felt ready for school. Mayor Aftab Pureval enthusiastically welcomed the students with high-fives.
