Renowned songstress and President of the Uganda Musicians Associations (UMA) Cindy Sanyu has urged for an investigation into the allocation of Ugx.13 billion in government stimulus funds designated for the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF).

Cindy voiced her concerns, emphasizing that there are disagreements within UMA regarding the distribution of the funds.
“I request that the investigations should be made because we too as UMA are not satisfied with the mode of sharing UNMF did with that money,” Sanyu stated.
The UNMF, led by prominent singer Eddy Kenzo, had been advocating for the stimulus funds since its establishment in 2023.
The funds were intended to support the UNMF’s SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization) and enhance the well-being of its members, as well as promote unity among artists.
In February, Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, the Minister of State for Finance, Planning, and Economic Development (Microfinance), revealed that the UNMF had been allocated Ugx.5 billion from the Ugx.13 billion stimulus package.
