The City of Sacramento is seeking “community ambassadors” to foster and sustain relationships with partners and residents from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as historically marginalized communities. Spearheaded by the Neighborhood Development Action Team (NDAT), this initiative offers stipends to 18 engaged community members to aid in promoting municipal services and disseminating information within their networks. “This program aims to bridge divides, ensuring all Sacramento residents, irrespective of their backgrounds or languages, can access essential resources,” remarked Lynette Hall, the City’s Community Engagement Manager. Community ambassadors will earn $6,000 annually and are tasked with serving as liaisons between the City and local communities. They will participate in monthly meetings to discuss civic engagement activities and relay community needs. Additionally, they can receive compensation for translation services and funding for special projects. Applications are open online until 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2025. Visit the City’s website for more details on the program.
