Leshelle May of CNN Appointed to Board of United Way California Capital Region

LeShelle May, a prominent figure from CNN's Internet Technology Group, has been appointed to the board of directors for United Way California Capital Region. May began her career at CNN in 1996 as a senior software developer and currently oversees the critical task of migrating CNN’s extensive archive to the cloud. Her earlier accomplishments include spearheading the launch of CNNgo and developing the NewsApps Portal. Notably, in 2000, she received a Technical Emmy for her innovative work on CNN’s video content system. She was also honored with the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in both 1999 and 2000. May earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Boston University and a master's in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is married to UC Davis Chancellor Gary S. May. As part of a cohort of six new community leaders, she will contribute to United Way's century-long mission of addressing and alleviating local needs.
