December 19 Marks the Start of College Football Playoff: Get Ready for Campus Excitement!

College football enthusiasts should highlight December 19 and 20 on their calendars, as this marks the initiation of the 2025-26 College Football Playoff (CFP). The much-anticipated 12-team format is back, featuring a Friday night opener and a Saturday filled with three exhilarating games, providing fans nearly two days of intense competition. On Friday night, one matchup will commence at 8 p.m. ET, and Saturday will feature three additional games: one in the afternoon and two later in the day. All initial-round contests will be hosted at campus venues, granting an advantage to the higher seeds. The leading four teams will receive byes, progressing directly to the quarterfinals, held at the prestigious New Year's Six bowl games. The Cotton Bowl will be the site for the first quarterfinal on December 31, followed by the Orange, Rose, and Sugar Bowls on January 1. Semifinals will take place at the Fiesta Bowl on January 8 and the Peach Bowl on January 9, both at 7:30 p.m. ET.
