Explaining his rationale, Salvado cited a lack of suitable comedy platforms in Uganda, coupled with a reluctance to engage in activities he doesn’t find enjoyable.
Additionally, he highlighted the challenge of finding events promoters willing to meet his price.
Salvado, recognized as one of Uganda’s premier comedians, has long been an outspoken advocate for the advancement of the arts, particularly within the comedy community. His contributions to the industry have earned him widespread acclaim and admiration.
In a statement addressing his temporary departure from the comedy scene, Salvado expressed frustration over the dearth of comedic opportunities that align with his creative vision. “The comedy I know that I right doesn’t exist in Uganda,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of genuine enjoyment in his work.
Furthermore, Salvado underscored the financial aspect of his decision, noting the difficulty in securing adequate compensation for his performances. “On addition, there is no events promoter who can afford my price,” he explained, shedding light on the economic challenges faced by comedians in Uganda.
