At Family Roots for Life, Inc., we believe that family reunification transcends the responsibilities of caseworkers; it embodies a collective mission for the community. True healing demands more than just policies, requiring genuine compassion and community engagement as both the foundation and solution.In Houston and nationally, African American and Latino youth are significantly overrepresented in the foster care system, revealing systemic inequities and biases that disrupt families. For transitional-aged youth, aged 16 to 24, exiting foster care often leads to perilous challenges, including homelessness, incarceration, or inadequate educational and job opportunities.At Family Roots for Life Inc., we prioritize HEARTWORK — healing through culturally attuned support.
