Community Justice Scholarships offered at UC Blue Ash

The Blue Ash Branch of the University of Cincinnati on March 7 held its annual Scholarship Luncheon in recognition of the scholarship recipients and donors. Two students—Natalie Borgert and Cynthia Kudatsi– were awarded the coveted Willla A. Washington/Hazelwood Community Association Community Justice Scholarships. These scholarships are the product of a unique partnership between the Hazelwood Community Association, the Blue Ash Police Department, and Blue Ash Branch of the University of Cincinnati. Sixteen students have been recipients of the partnership’s prestigious awards.
The partnership has not only been inspirational to the students, but to the police department as well. It’s success in transforming the lives of students inspired Chief Noel to allow his officers to promote their own scholarship through their professional association. Their scholarship was offered for the first time this year as the Blue Ash Police Scholarship Fund.
The quality of the BAPD’s outreach program has been acknowledged by the chief for years.
