Jasmine Crockett Champions Throws Her Support Behind Aftyn Behn For Tennessee's 7th Congressional District

U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), a prominent advocate championing justice for all and working families, launched a national Democratic Committee campaign on Friday, November 7, in support of state Representative Aftyn Behn for Tennessee’s Congressional District 7. Early voting for this crucial election begins Tuesday, November 12. Representative Behn is contending against Republican Matt Van Epps for the seat previously held by Mark Green, who resigned earlier this year for a private sector role. A special election is scheduled for December 2.Congresswoman Crockett had intended to convene with Behn in Nashville but opted for a virtual town hall instead, due to an impending Congressional vote aimed at resolving the government shutdown. The event took place at the historic Watson Grove Baptist Church, an important venue in District 7. Crockett and Behn criticized the government shutdown, cuts to SNAP benefits, and challenges to healthcare affordability while attendees shared their personal experiences regarding these issues.
