Raise your hand if you would choose to celebrate your child's birthday this way: drugs, alcohol, and an excessively hot bathtub. No? Me neither. Tragically, a couple in Brazil, military officer Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, 37, and his spouse Ana Carolina Silva, 41, decided on this path, leading to a fatal outcome. Reports indicate that the couple was discovered deceased in a motel bathtub in Santa Catarina on August 11, following a day of partying for their young daughter's birthday, involving substances and excessive drinking. When the couple failed to collect their daughter the next day, family members alerted authorities. An investigation revealed the bathtub's temperature reached 122 degrees Fahrenheit, with a space heater in the room set high. Chief Medical Examiner Andressa Boer Fronza stated the deaths resulted from exogenous poisoning contributing to heatstroke and severe dehydration. Toxicology tests confirmed elevated alcohol and cocaine levels. A birthday celebration has transformed into a heartbreaking tragedy, leaving a young girl without her parents.
