ContributedThe Black Family Reunion honored longtime WLWT anchor Courtis Fuller during the event’s festivities last weekend in Cincinnati.The third day of the event had food, music and community at the Courtis Fuller Lounge set up by organizers of the event to honor the longtime community advocate and journalist.“I mean, Courtis Fuller, like I told him earlier today, he’s the dean of newscasting in Cincinnati,” radio personality Lincoln Ware said Friday.Old pals Ware and Rev. Peterson Mingo stopped by the event’s Courtis Fuller Lounge downtown to give their friend his flowers. Mingo said the honor was long overdue.“Courtis has been able to represent us in every facet,” Mingo said. “He’s highly intelligent, he’s motivated and when he gets a hold of something, he’ll see it through.”Fuller said he is just another member of the community trying to make it better.“It’s our community, I love Cincinnati,” Fuller said. “I came here not knowing anyone and I’ve fallen in love with the city.
