‘Cow’ Granted Bail On Multiple Gun-Related Charges

The First District Court has granted $60,000 bail in cash or suitable surety to twenty-one-year-old Ricardo George, alias ‘Cow’ in connection with multiple gun-related charges. Police apprehended George on Friday in a probe into a recent shooting in Castries. At about 4:30 pm on that day, officers responded to a shooting on Trinity Church Road. They arrested one male suspect they saw running from New Village and recovered a loaded illegal firearm the fugitive threw into a drain. As a result of their investigation, officers charged Ricardo George, alias ‘Cow’ with the following offences: 1)Possession of Firearm. 2)Possession of Ammunition. 3)Using a Firearm with Intent to Cause Harm. 4)Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place. Police are also investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Cul de Sac on Saturday, resulting in injury to a man in his twenties from the same area. A private vehicle conveyed the victim to the hospital after a bullet, allegedly fired by a known individual, grazed his head. The recent shootings have added to an alarming surge in gun violence that has prompted calls for harsher penalties for gun crimes.
