Reflecting on our educational experiences in segregated Dallas, my family discovered a nurturing community after relocating from Houston. At J.W. Ray Elementary, we flourished thanks to the exceptional guidance of skilled educators. Even with the obstacles encountered at Madison High, the unwavering commitment of the faculty galvanized us to persevere. My twin and I ventured into global careers, each carving out unique trajectories while dedicated to serving the community. This foundation of support and inspiration shaped our aspirations, demonstrating the profound impact that quality mentorship can have on young minds. The lessons learned during those formative years continue to resonate with us, as we strive to give back to society in meaningful ways.
