Dallas ISD Kicks Off New School Year Emphasizing Legacy and Excellence

The commencement of the 2025-2026 school year at Dallas ISD was marked by an atmosphere brimming with pride, enthusiasm, and visionary spirit. Over 140,000 students returned to classrooms, welcomed by an array of educators, school leaders, community supporters, and distinguished guests eager to kick off the academic year.At Albert C. Black Jr. STEAM Academy, the institution's namesake, Albert C. Black Jr., engaged with students and faculty, expressing his aspirations for the fresh school year. “We are incredibly proud of you,” he remarked. “When a plan unfolds as beautifully as this, pride is essential. Let’s embody their heroes, reminding them daily of the love and support they deserve, as that is crucial for success.”He was accompanied by community leaders, including Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Ed.D. “Today symbolizes a myriad of opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and realize their boundless potential,” she stated, emphasizing a year characterized by legacy, innovation, and excellence.
