The Chasing M’s Foundation has announced that the application process has opened today for Hamlin’s Cincinnati Heroes Scholarship to youth. The scholarship will support high school and college-bound students looking to attend Cincinnati area private high schools, trade schools, or universities.
Scholarships are named after the following individuals who helped save Hamlin’s life after experiencing cardiac arrest on January 2, during an NFL game, including B. Woods Curry, MD (Airway physician, field response), Betty Tsuei, MD (Surgical ICU), Saad Ahmad, MD (Cardiology), Jason McMullan, MD (Emergency Response Physician, Field Response), Claire Deglow, RN (SICU), Alyssa Zimmerman, RN (SICU), Val Lake, RN (SICU), Rob Hursong, EMT-P (Supervisor, Paramedic), John Bush, RRT (Field RT), and Gary Richardson, RRT (SICU RT).
“The opportunity I have to give back and inspire others through my charity is an incredible blessing,” said Hamlin. “Whether kids need help with books, tuition, or housing, my focus is on helping them explore what comes next, whether that means college or trade school. It is my hope that this scholarship will honor the ten medical professionals who helped save my life a year ago, while supporting kids on their own journey.”
