Damon “Dame” Dash has been instructed to divest his stake in his film studio and streaming services to resolve substantial legal obligations. However, these assets are reportedly not registered under his name. Court records indicate that the liquidation order pertains to properties owned by Dash’s spouse, Raquel Horn. She is identified as the sole proprietor of Dame Dash Studios, which manages various Dash-related projects, including the streaming platform America Nu and the children’s brand Dusko Goes to Space. This legal action arises from a 2019 lawsuit filed by author Edwyna Brooks for unauthorized film distribution of her work "Mafietta." Brooks secured a judgment of $78,289 in 2020, which remains unpaid, leading to the court assigning a receiver to liquidate Dash's holdings, despite many being under Horn’s name, given Dash's control through The Dash Group.
