Derrick Scott Takes on Provost Role at Fort Valley State University

Derrick Scott has been appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at the historic Fort Valley State University in Georgia, effective July 1. Previously, he served at Virginia State University as dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences and interim dean of Agriculture, fostering significant growth in enrollment, retention, and research engagement. This pivotal work contributed to the elevation of his institution to R2 research status. Earlier, he held leadership positions at Delaware State University, enhancing health disparities research initiatives.
