Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation’s annual gala fundraiser, Dining in the Dark, is set to take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the JW Marriott downtown.& This year’s theme, Carnaval: Revelry for a Cause, will have guests donning their most colorful garb for a night of feathers, fun and festivities to raise funds for Bosma’s Center for Visionary Solutions for rehabilitation programs.& “This night is all about supporting our clients and our mission,” said Brandon Wells, executive director of Bosma. “The goal this year was to tie a theme into the celebration aspect.”& During the event, guests will wear sleep shades to experience dinner from the perspective of those who are blind or visually impaired. This activity is intended to raise awareness of the training programs offered at the center, which gives individuals the tools to reclaim independence.& “These events spread awareness on the struggles of the blind and visually impaired in our everyday lives,” said Ray Montgomery, outreach and volunteer coordinator for Bosma.& As Montgomery explains, the funds create hope for Hoosiers who have lost their vision.& & “It helps people to know there is life after blindness,” Montgomery said.& Guests will wear their brightest colors for the...
