A Petition Circulates Calling for Beyoncé’s Videos to Be Removed After Parents Accuse Her of Inappropriate Conduct

A faction linked to the Christian conservative American Family Association is challenging a year-old partnership featuring the celebrated musician Beyoncé. In September 2024, she collaborated with Levi’s for the "REIIMAGINE" marketing initiative, coinciding with her release of the song “LEVII’S JEANS.” Critics from the conservative group deem the campaign "vulgar" and are pressuring Levi’s to withdraw the advertisements. This initiative includes three commercials—“Launderette,” “Pool Hall,” and “Refrigerator”—showcasing Beyoncé in various Levi’s denim attire. In "Launderette," she removes her blue jeans in a laundromat, igniting controversy due to misconceptions regarding her audience. The "Pool Hall" and "Refrigerator" spots highlight her in different denim ensembles, underscoring her glamorous appeal. Members of One Million Moms have initiated a petition against the ads, alleging they harm children and convey inappropriate messages. Despite their efforts, as of now, just 13,924 people have signed. Varied opinions on social media suggest the criticism may be exaggerated. (Photo: Wikipedia Commons)
