In a surprising turn of events, Donald Trump preferred a game of golf over attending the vigil for Charlie Kirk at the Kennedy Center. The former president's passion for golf remains evident, yet this decision likely disappointed Kirk’s family and supporters, who had hoped for Trump's presence during this time of mourning. Charlie Kirk, a staunch supporter of Trump, was tragically killed at a college event on September 10. The vigil, held in Washington D.C. on September 14 at 6 p.m., was just 1.5 miles from the White House. Instead of attending, Trump chose to make his way back to the White House from the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, returning around 8 p.m. Despite his absence at the vigil, numerous Trump administration figures and GOP members were present, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who paid tribute to Kirk. Trump, however, is expected to attend Kirk’s official memorial in Arizona on September 21.
