Investigators are delving into the circumstances surrounding the death of an anesthesiologist found deceased in a Dollar Tree freezer in Miami. On December 14, police were alerted to the store located in the heart of Little Havana when an employee stumbled upon the body.The initial 911 dispatch described the deceased as a “naked female” whose identity was unknown to the staff. Authorities later identified her as 32-year-old Helen Massiell Garay Sanchez, a dedicated physician and mother of two.Local detectives uncovered that Sanchez visited the store on the night of December 13, without making any purchases. She ventured into the restricted employees-only section housing the freezer and remained there overnight. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have ruled out foul play, asserting there are no indications of coercion. Speaking to neighbors, many expressed shock, with one stating, “I’m totally devastated. I can’t believe you’d find a dead body here.” Sanchez’s family described her as a committed anesthesiologist from Nicaragua, highlighting her compassion for saving lives.
