Discussing the matter on the "Show Me Something" podcast, Cunningham asserted that discontent among players is linked to her and Clark's dominance over the game, labeling the situation as "racism." This perspective echoes sentiments voiced by Black players regarding their treatment since Clark's entry into the league. Despite notable white stars like Sabrina Ionescu, the league’s defining athletes remain Black, exemplifying dominance despite Cunningham’s remarks. Furthermore, her past comments regarding WNBA expansion provoked backlash, underscoring her tendency to generate controversy.
